Davis woman helps people find job paths, establish work-life balance
Andrea Weiss, a national certified counselor with offices in Davis, recently achieved her master career counselor, a special membership status from the National Career Development Association.
The NCDA offers the master career counselor honor only to those members who provide a full range of career services, including assessment, to consumers. All MCCs have master's degrees in counseling or related fields, and possess additional credentials such as national certified counselor. These professionals' work and eduactional experiences are carefully screend to ensure that their level of expertise meets six or more of the NCDA counseling competencies.
Weiss has more than 20 years of experience in career counseling, training and human resources consulting. As a career counselor, she has helped hundreds of indiviuals by providing personalized, confidential career counseling services to identify and pursue satisfying careers, manage successful career transitions and take advantage of new opportunities. Her experience also includes designing and delivering employee development workshops on a variety of topics including career management, employee recruitment, change management, job search skills and work-life balance. In addition, she is an expert in all phases of the recruitment process, having conducted a wide range of employee recruitments for public and nonprofit sector clients.
Weiss earned a master's degree in career counseling from Sacramento State University and a bachelor's degree in international relations from UC Davis.
